Black Employees Resource Group

Mission

Founded in the early 2000s, the Black Employee Resource Group (BERG) is the oldest and most established resource group on the University of Arkansas campus. As a pioneering force in promoting belonging, fairness, and representation, BERG has played a crucial role in shaping the university's commitment to a more inclusive and supportive environment for Black faculty and staff. Our group serves as a dynamic community where members can connect, share experiences, and access resources tailored to their personal and professional growth.

BERG's mission extends beyond advocacy and support. We are dedicated to fostering leadership development, cultural competency, and cross-cultural dialogue. Through workshops, networking events, mentorship programs, and collaborative initiatives, we aim to empower our members to thrive in their careers while contributing to the broader goals of the university. BERG also actively engages with the wider university community, working to address institutional issues and promote policies that reflect our commitment to equity and social justice.

For over two decades, BERG has been a committed champion for Black employees at the University of Arkansas, ensuring that their voices are heard and their contributions recognized. We invite all members of the university community to join us in our ongoing efforts to create a campus where everyone feels valued and respected.
