The Center for Educational Access (CEA) serves as the central campus resource for the University community in regard to students with disabilities and accommodations to remove barriers to access.
In partnership with students, faculty, and staff, CEA staff members work with students individually and assist academic units to determine reasonable accommodations that will enable every student to have equal access to the full range of programs and services.

Northwest Arkansas Equality Center
Northwest Arkansas Equality, Inc. is a community education, advocacy, resource, and service organization working to achieve full equality while creating an environment that embraces and supports the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) community of Northwest Arkansas. Northwest Arkansas Equality, Inc. is a registered public nonprofit founded in 2006, and holding 501(c)(3) charitable status since 2007. Our organization operates the Arthur Beeghly LGBTQ Resource Center and owns the trademark and operational rights to the official events of Northwest Arkansas Pride and Gayetteville Brands.
NWA Equality serves as an education, advocacy, resource, and service organization to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) citizens of Benton and Washington Counties. In addition to being recognized as the regional voice for equality and inclusion, we provide free HIV testing services, a variety of support groups, as well as social and community outreach events, including the Season of Dickson Divas drag events. Each summer we host Arkansas' largest LGBTQ pride celebration, Northwest Arkansas Pride.
University of Arkansas Employee Assistance
The university supports employees and their families through difficult times with personal, professional and family counseling at no cost through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP). The Employee Assistance Program provides confidential assistance to identify and resolve marital, family, financial, health, alcohol, drug, legal, emotional or stress-related problems, and address other personal concerns which may adversely affect employee job performance. The university contracts with the Employee Assistance Program to provide services, which are offered to benefits-eligible employees and their immediate family members at no cost.
Arkansas Department of Veteran Services
The Arkansas Department of Veterans Affairs serves Arkansas Veterans, and their eligible dependents, through advocacy and education to access federal and state benefits, high-quality long-term nursing care, and burial honors.
University of Arkansas Veteran Resource and Information Center
With the understanding that each student veteran has different needs, our services are adapted to the individual student. We serve as the central point of contact for prospective or current University of Arkansas military-affiliated students needing assistance with the admissions process, applying for military educational benefits and scholarships, and referrals to various academic departments around campus.Additionally, we maintain a large network within the community to refer students to organizations specializing in veteran services. Arkansas Rehabilitation Services
Arkansas Rehabilitation Services, Adult Education, and Division of Services for the Blind, under the Division of Workforce Services, and the Office of Skills Development Division, under the Department of Commerce, are focused on delivering industry-focused, demand-driven education and training.
Our mission is to prepare a job-ready, career-bound workforce to meet the needs of Arkansas employers. We provide a comprehensive system of education and workforce programs and services to accomplish the following:
- provide both youth and adults the necessary academic and technical skills for meaningful jobs;
- work with business and industry to identify and provide grants for workforce training needs;
- offer Arkansans of all ages the options to pursue a wide range of career choices;
- ensure that workers have the foundation for lifelong learning that will allow them to enhance their existing skills and also to learn new skills in response to the current and future demands of a rapidly changing workplace;
- assist individuals with disabilities in becoming productive citizens and workers; and
- supply employers with validation of skills through national certifications and licenses.
Arkansas Relay Services
Arkansas Relay Services is a communications system that allows hearing persons and Deaf, hard of hearing, or speech-impaired persons to communicate by telephone. As mandated by the Public Service Commission, all providers of basic local exchange telephone service must share in the cost of providing Telecommunications Relay Service (TRS). Sprint Relay provides TRS service on behalf of all basic local exchange service providers in Arkansas. Relay Services are fast and easy to use. There is no additional charge to use this service. Only normal telephone charges will be applied. There are no limits to the length or number of calls you place. Communication Assistants (CA’s) have had training in Deaf Culture.
Aha! Interpreting Solutions, LLC.
We specialize in interpreter training, onsite interpretation services, and interpreter program consultation for all industries. We work closely with area hospitals, city agencies, state programs, adult education, business and community projects to provide quality, affordable services.

iCAN Tools for Life
iCAN is the Arkansas statewide Assistive Technology program designed to make technology available and accessible for everyone who needs it. Assistive technology (AT) is any kind of device or tool that helps people live, learn, work, and communicate more independently. AT can be very simple and inexpensive, like a modified knife and fork, or it can be very sophisticated and costly, like a computerized speech device.
iCAN stands for Increasing Capabilities Access Network and Tools for Life is our philosophy—assistive technology for everyone! iCAN offers a number of services to help Arkansans of all ages find the AT tools they need for home, school, work and getting around in the community. Our services include the following:
- Information Assistance
- AT Device Loans
- AT Device Reuse
- AT Training on devices and issues related to accessibility
- Presentations about iCAN and the benefits of technology
- Tours of the iCAN Tools for Life Demonstration Center
- Technical Assistance to employers, service providers, educators, and others. The services offered by iCAN are available to all Arkansans, regardless of age, geographic area, disability, income or eligibility for any other service.
TAP Telecommunications Access Program
The Telecommunication Access Program (TAP) provides specialized telecommunication equipment to eligible Arkansans who are deaf, hard of hearing, deaf-blind, or who have a speech, visual, mobility, or intellectual impairment. TAP strives to remove telecommunication barriers through the delivery of adaptive communication technology. The equipment that TAP provides remains the property of the State of Arkansas for two years and then becomes the property of the recipient of the equipment.
Epilepsy Foundation
The Epilepsy Foundation, a national non-profit with more than 50 local organizations throughout the United States, has led the fight against seizures since 1968. The Foundation is an unwavering ally for individuals and families impacted by epilepsy and seizures. The Foundation works to prevent, control, and cure epilepsy through community services; public education; federal and local advocacy; and supporting research into new treatments and therapies. The Foundation works to ensure that people with seizures have the opportunity to live their lives to their fullest potential.
