Pregnancy and Parenting

The University of Arkansas is committed to supporting the pregnant and parenting community through accommodations. Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972  and the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA) guide this accommodation process coordinated by Equal Opportunity, Compliance & Title IX. 

Request an Accommodation

This process is available to university job applicants, employees, campus visitors, and others participating in campus programs or receiving campus services. Managers can submit a referral notice by using the online request form.

Students

The University of Arkansas supports students who need academic adjustments or accommodations related to pregnancy, childbirth, termination of pregnancy, recovery, lactation, or related medical conditions. Students do not need to have a disability to request support.

Employees & Job Applicants

Reasonable workplace accommodations are available for employees  or job applicants affected by pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum recovery, lactation, or related medical conditions. Individuals do not need to have a disability to request support.

Course Instructors

Pregnant or parenting students have the right to continue with their educational program for as long as they determine they are able. Course instructors should be aware of Title IX requirements as it relates to students in their courses.
