The Office of Equal Opportunity and Compliance guides, assists, and monitors the University community to encourage fair and equal treatment of all individuals in the processes that affect education and employment by enforcing all federal/state laws and regulations as well as university policies and procedures related to civil rights, equal employment opportunity, and non-discrimination.

Dr. Williams serves as the Director of the Office of Equal Opportunity and Compliance and has the primary responsibility of oversight and strategic planning for the University's compliance with federal/state laws and regulations and university policies prohibiting discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and sexual harassment by or towards any university community member. Dr. Williams is responsible for the implementation of equal opportunity, affirmative action, and diversity policies at the University of Arkansas and assists in the development and implementation of the university's affirmative action programs with University Administrators. Dr. Williams also provides technical advice and training to departments and search committees on recruitment strategies and procedures throughout the recruitment and hiring process. This may include information for recruiting minorities and women from registers and working with departments to set goals for affirmative action.

Ms. Williams serves as the Compliance Officer and ADA Coordinator for the Office of Equal Opportunity and Compliance. In her role as the Compliance Officer she serves as the primary investigator and is responsible for the administration and management of the complaint procedure in accordance with the Non-Discrimination Policy.  As the ADA Coordinator she is responsible for facilitating the Reasonable Accommodation process in accordance with the Disability Accommodation Policy. She is also responsible for all training related to these topics. Ms. Williams is also primarily responsible for all responses to the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the Office of Civil Rights (OCR) complaints.

Ms. Colbert-Diaz serves as the Grievance Officer for the Office of Equal Opportunity and Compliance and is primarily responsible for the administration and facilitation of the University Staff Grievance Procedure, which provides a fair, efficient, and equitable solutions for problems arising out of the employment relationship; EO related administration and monitoring of the recruitment process for ensuring non-discriminatory employee hiring and promotion practice involving faculty and staff; statistical analysis as related to the affirmative action plan; and Technology Coordinator as related to case management. She is responsible for all training related to these topics. Ms. Colbert-Diaz also assists as an investigator with the complaint procedure in accordance with the Non-Discrimination Policy.

Ms. Wimberly serves as the EO Specialist and is primarily responsible for coordinating all EO related training, events, and hearings; providing support to departments in finding diverse recruitment sources; and supervising the activities of support level personnel. Ms. Wimberly assists with ensuring non-discriminatory employee hiring practices through the review of the recruitment process for staff and faculty, and assists in facilitating the staff grievance process.

Ms. Warren serves as the administrative support for the office staff and is responsible for greeting visitors and guests, answering phones, data entry, scanning and indexing documents, and general clerical duties.
